Technology Services

UCG is focused on bringing cutting-edge technologies to improve and expand educational opportunities for students and faculty development. Check out what we have to offer:

Wireless Access

To access our wireless network, the following settings are required:

  • SSID: UCG_Wireless
  • Internet Protocol Properties:
    • Obtain an IP address automatically
    • Obtain DNS server address automatically

You will have Internet access, but printing is not available over the wireless network. In order to print, please use the computers and printers in the library.

Computer Labs

In addition to the computer stations in the library, UCG also has four computer labs located throughout the facility. Two of the labs have a 35-person capacity, and two have a 17-person capacity. The labs are available to assist faculty in instructional formats.

Distance Education

In 2013, UCG upgraded two existing Distance Education studios to IP/standards-based platforms.  These instructional spaces are full motion video combined with state-of-the-art audio.  Videoconferencing adapted specifically for the academic environment, these studios allow synchronous instruction in 2 or 3 different geographic locations.

These access points provide a ground-breaking user experience for networks supporting multiple types of clients, including consumer-grade and bring-your-own devices. It provides top performance and security.

Encore Technology Group

Encore is one of the largest independent technology solution providers in the southeastern United States, though its prestigious client roster spans the entire nation. It has provided innovative technology solutions for K-12 classrooms, higher education institutions, state and local government agencies, and commercial enterprises.

This network of direct fiber connections between Clemson, Greenville, and Atlanta, provides direct access to the National LambdaRail, Internet2 and other national and international research networks. It provides UCG with leading-edge capabilities using direct fiber connectivity to high-capacity networks and resources that will enable research, academic and economic advancements and opportunities that were previously out of reach for the Upstate. As a strategic alliance between Clemson University and Charter Business, C-Light was developed using private donations and gifted fiber with no burden to the taxpayers of South Carolina.
