The Clemson Master of Art in Teaching (MAT): Special Education program meets the requirements to earn initial teaching licensure in special education (learning disabilities) in elementary and secondary settings.

  • For job-seeking Clemson graduates with an MAT in special education, 100 percent received job offers before graduation.
  • The starting salary for a teacher with a master’s degree is almost $5,000 more than a teacher with a bachelor’s degree (in Upstate South Carolina school districts).
  • Clemson graduates are highly trained and competent special education teachers.

For more information, please fill out this form or visit the Clemson University Graduate School website.
