BJU’s master of music education program combines convenience and flexibility with top-notch academics. Designed for practicing K-12 music teachers, the master of music education program meets you where you are—allowing you to further specialize in music education and develop your leadership potential.
With the exception of studio lessons and ensembles, all our MME courses are available online, so you’ll be able to continue serving where God has led you while you learn and apply new skills. The master of music education is designed to integrate with your current career in music education, tailored to your schedule and interests.
BJU’s master of music education program in music education explores many different facets of music education, from historical precedents to music psychology. You’ll take courses in advanced rehearsal techniques and performance literature, and explore pedagogy, curriculum design, program administration and more—all from a distinctly Christian worldview.
Throughout your entire program, you’ll interact with credentialed faculty who are passionate about your success, and they’ll provide you with realistic and constructive insights to help you further develop your skills.
This program requires 30 credits and does not lead to certification. An undergraduate degree in music education (or equivalent) is a prerequisite for the MME.
